Got A Wish? Tell Santa About It!

Got a wish this Christmas? Why don't you tell Santa about it? Perhaps you're thinking that it's silly to still believe in Santa these days. Hey, why don’t you loosen up a bit and have a little fun by sitting on Santa's lap? Guess what? I did sit on Santa's lap a while ago. I visited his site and spent a while telling him about my wish. I also listened to their conversation about this new technology in digital photography called CEIVA. I was amazed, so I uploaded one of my photos to see how it will look on that digital photo frame. Here’s what I uploaded:

I love this photo so much. This was taken 4 days ago when we spent a weekend there in Davao. I chose to upload this one because I want to share the beauty of the beach at the background. Don't you wish you're there too? You know what, we had so much fun snorkeling there. And believe me, it was a heavenly experience. So yeah, I highly recommend it when you visit Davao.

Anyway, going back to CEIVA, maybe you’re curious as to what it is? Well, CEIVA is a new and exciting way to share your photos with your family and friends. Even if they are miles away, you can share them your captured moments when you spend the holidays out of the country or those precious times with your kids. I'm so fond of taking pictures myself, and so I got really excited when I learned about this new technology.

Now, if you haven't purchased gifts for your loved ones this Christmas, why not consider this digital photo frame from CEIVA? I'm sure they'll love it. And here’s a good news: CEIVA is running a sweepstakes which will run for 29 days. Everyday, one lucky winner will be given $500, so why not join now? It's just too bad I can’t participate since I’m not from US. But if you are, well grab that chance to win that $500. I wish you luck!!!

Win $100 and More at PSDRockstar.Com

It's December once again, and so everyone's excited, except myself, to go home for the holidays. Yup, it's so sad that I won't be going home this Christmas. Actually, it was my decision not to go because in January, me and my daughter, together with her dad, will be going home anyway. So we'll just celebrate here in the big city, and prepare a little Noche Buena.

Speaking of Noche Buena, I haven't thought of what foods to prepare yet. But before I think about the food, perhaps what I should prepare first is the budget for that. Whew, I've been paying a lot of bills lately, so I might as well join this contest from PSDRockstar to win that $100 prize. That will make a great budget for our Christmas eve dinner. New Eyeglasses for Me

Whenever my husband sees me on webcam with my eyeglasses on, he would joke that I look like a nerd. Yeah right! How could I disagree if I know myself that indeed I look nerdy on these old frames of mine? So, he suggested that I should get a new pair, a fashionable one, since I’ll be getting my 13th month pay soon. And he recommended this site called Zenni Optical – the popular online eyeglasses shop.

What makes Zenni Optical popular? Well, they have these $ 8 Complete Rx Eyeglasses, which are not only affordable but also of high quality. And since Christmas is just around the corner, I'm going to check out the Holiday Glass Frames from Zenni Optical. Actually, I've already seen one from their selection, which I kinda like a little. Here it is:

Isn't it cute? Do you think I'll still look nerdy on that?

Let's Talk Silver

In my teenage days, I fancied wearing gold jewelleries. I remember one time, when I saw my bestfriend wearing a gold ring, earrings, and a bracelet, I asked myself how come my mom didn't buy me stuff like those. And so, when I went home that day, I immediately asked my mom why. Her answer was I was too young to have a gold jewellery then, Sterling Silver Jewellery should be better for me.

Those days, I hardly appreciated silver pieces of jewellery. But when I grew older, I came to realize that they looked better on me than the gold ones. And so, from now on, I prefer having Sterling Silver Bracelets just like the ones being offered at Keysilver.

Keysilver is an online trading company that offers a vast selection of Sterling Silver Jewelleries such as Silver Bangles, Pendants, Chains, and Bracelets. They have been around since 2006, and they are known to provide products with high silver content and carry the .925 (92.5%) stamp. No doubt, customers who love silver order only from them; imagine even those not from UK can take advantage of their great offers because of their free International delivery.

If you'll ask me, personally, I'd like to have that Silver and Rose Quartz Necklace from the Trendy Silver Necklaces category. The rose quartz stones look fantastic and the silver shaped charms and pearls as well. I'm sure, I'd look good with that on, especially when I wear it on our Christmas party to go with my black and white smart casual attire.

So, if you are also into silver jewelleries, why don't you check out Keysilver? The site is very easy to navigate, so you'll not find it hard to search for their wide range of products. Whether you want a silver bracelet, bangles, or pendant, I'm sure you'll find one that will best suit your taste.

Don't Text While Walking, Biking, Cooking, Etc.

I was browsing the net a while ago when I chanced upon this Yahoo tech news: OMG, text at your own risk. The headline caught my interest and so I read on. According to the news, texting can be dangerous. When? When walking, skating, cooking, biking, boating, and I would add, when babysitting. Yup, certainly texting while doing any of these can be utterly dangerous. I remembered one time, while walking I was busy texting to reply a message sent by my friend. Then, I didn't notice this guy walking towards me, so I almost bump into him if he didn't try to avoid me. He just looked at me with piercing eyes when I glanced back at him. So then, I realized that I really should not text while walking.

I'm sure, some of you have also experienced the same thing. Or perhaps, you were doing other things like cooking or driving and you were texting because you thought you were maximing your time in doing two things at the same time. Yup, you were making use of the time, but you were definitely putting yourself at risk. According to one doctor's statement on the news, "You're focusing on one task for a split second, then focusing on another one, and with something moving 40 miles an hour like a car, it just takes a couple of seconds to be hit." So, better not text when walking, driving, biking, etc.

Ten Things 'Bout Me

I was tagged by my blogging friend, Jhelea. This is about 10 random things about myself. Actually, I've just posted a tag from Jirl in my other blog entitled 7 Facts About Me. So, I'm kindda having a hard time thinking as to what to put on this, since I've already listed 7 out of the ten. Anyway, I decided to just write a new list. But before I do, let me state to you the rules of this tag:

Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random things, facts, habits, or goals about yourself. At the end, choose 10 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. Don't forget to leave them a comment ("You're it") and ask them to read your blog. You can't tag the person who tagged you.

Now, here's my list:

1. I drink slimming tea just to "you know". Because if I don't, it will take days for me to move my "you know". hahaha. Lols!
2. I can type 56 words per minute...and I can say 56x1,000,000,000 words per minute especially when I'm angry. :D
3. I love eating chicken: fried chicken, roasted chicken, chicken curry, chicken bbq, chicken liver, chicken feet, chicken intestine - in short "isaw", but definitely not live chicken.
4. I have a passport already, but never been used, and never been touched - meaning still so virgin..hahaha..and will expire soon..
5. I love playing volleyball, and promise I'll do everything just to save the ball even if it means plunging down the ground.
6. I love surprises, but not the one we got last June 19th.
7. I wanted to be a lawyer, but I ended up a writer. Oh well...
8. I get pregnant easily...as in...I just don't know why I always end up having a baby girl.
9. I enjoy washing the dishes, do the laundry, polish the floor, and clean the bathroom. Just don't let me cook and fold the clothes.
10. I have a sweet tooth. Sweets...You name it, I'll eat it...Weee..

Okay, I'm done! Now, you're it: Lyn, Mina, Nays, Cardz, Ate Pres, Twinx, Tala, Mayan, Charm, and Rye.

Sexy Voice+Sexy Body = Definitely Not Me

According to one article that I read today in Yahoo news, sexy people sound better. Now, that made me really think, so I continued to read the whole article. It said that those people who are deemed to have sexy and attractive voices tend to have sexier body once seen in person. Hmmm. So does that mean my voice does not sound attractive just because I'm not sexy? Oh come on! But hey, I don't really give a damn, whether my voice is sexy or not, or if it is my body that is sexy or not. Though I gained weight over three pregnancies, I'm more than proud to be a mom and I consider myself sexy in my own way. Now, it's all up to my hubby! *wink*

More About Glenn Beck

I don't know if you guys heard about Glenn Beck already? But as far as I know, he's one great guy who can put humor in life's complexities. Whether it is about politics or about life in general, his storytelling and stand up act will sure make you laugh and help you forget about your worries even for a while. Now, if you haven't seen or listened to any of his acts, why not visit his website or check out his blog? His site is a combination of entertainment and enlightenment, so believe me, you’ll never get bored reading the articles included in this site. Why not check out the Family and Relationship page? Basically, that’s the category that catches my interest most.

But hey, if you want to see more of Glenn Beck, catch his One Night Only show in Dallas on July 17th. This is a part of his current summer political tour and will be available in selected theaters nationwide. So get a ticket now! Have a great time watching!

My Current Fave Song

While I was at the dorm's "internet station" yesterday, I heard this song that really got my attention. Actually, it wasn't the first time that I heard it. I already loved its melody and lyrics the first time and so upon hearing it again last night, I told myself, "I have to know the title and lyrics of that song!" So, I asked the guy who played that song over windows media player, and he told me that the title of the song was Forget About Me by A Little Bit. I was happy, but not much because I wasn't able to download it. Good thing, my friend Dex has one, and he immediately transferred it to my cellphone. Thanks, Dex!

Weekend To-Do List

Beginning today until Monday, we don't have work. Aaarrgghh I just can imagine how boring my weekend will be! So, I decided to list down some of the things that I can do over the weekend to keep me busy.

1. Organize my things inside my room. Yup I should do this because the past days, I put my things everywhere. End result: my bed is a complete mess!

2. Do the laundry. Nice move Bhem! Instead of paying someone to do it for me, I'd better make use of my time to wash my dirty clothes and let them dry.

3. Watch movies using my laptop...Yup..Yup..Yup..This will keep me occupied so I won't feel so homesick.

4. Go to the mall. Hmmm..Sunday won't be a bad day to go to the mall and spend a few bucks. My friend Talie is here, so maybe we can meet at the mall and go window shopping.

5. Blog...Blog..and Blog...That is right! This will consume most of my time since I need to update my readers about the latest things that happened to me.

So there! My to-do list over the weekend...

A Rather New Info

While surfing the net a while ago, I chanced to see this site about cord blood banking services. It really caught my interest because it never occurred to me that a newborn's umbilical cord blood can be preserved and used to treat many diseases. This was really new to me so I read on.

According to this cord blood banking site, the umbilical cord blood’s stem cells can be used against over 70 diseases and have been actually used for about 8,000 transplants around the world. Wow! Imagine that. Why didn’t I learn about this before? I could have preserved my baby’s umbilical cord blood for such medical purpose. Now that I have learned about this through this site, I could consider the idea next time.

Is this cord blood bank information new to you as well? Why not check this site to learn more? Now, let me continue reading further about this topic. I’m really curious about this.

Be Mesmerized by Criss Angel

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been fascinated with magic tricks. I remember years back, I was so entertained when a friend of ours showed us some of these tricks during children’s parties. He was good, but nothing compares to seeing professional and modern magical masters like CRISS ANGEL.

I’ve also seen other great magicians do unbelievable tricks like David Blaine and Harry Houdini. Yes they were great, but if you will see Criss Angel’s illusions and performances, you can say that he has indeed took magic into a higher level.

Now, where to see him? Why not catch him at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas? This new Cirque Du Soleil performance featuring Criss Angel is called CRISS ANGEL Believe. A lot of people are looking forward to this show because they really want to see him perform his never-before seen magical illusions.

If you also want to be mystified and mesmerized with Criss Angel’s performance yet you’re having a hard time getting the ticket, then join the Text Message contest now to win 2 tickets to CRISS ANGEL Believe. How to join? Text 'Believe' to 22122.

So, hurry! Grab this chance, win, and be entertained by this great illusionist. Believe me, after you’ve seen him perform, you might think that indeed he has powers. Yet, he does not have any; he's just there to left you spellbound by his performances.

A Tribute to Madeline

Over the years, I've seen colleagues come and go in this company. Some were expected, while a few came as a surprise. Like now, I never expected this day to be the last day here at work of one of the closest people I've known.

I know, some of you may be wondering who I'm talking about. And perhaps, you, yourself will be surprised knowing that she's indeed leaving the company. But let me tell you this, she may be leaving the company after almost 4 years of being here, but the memories she shared with me, with us, will always be treasured.

Okay, so how do I want to remember this colleague and friend? To begin with the not-so-important, well, she's often the co-organizer of the Office Paluwagan. Ever since the First Proposed Paluwagan in 2006, she was already active in recruiting other PMs or what we called as Paluwagan Members. Now, what's the privilege that the co-organizer enjoys? Well, she often got the PM1, PM2, or PM3 slot, meaning she's the first, second, or third to claim the accumulated fund. So now that she's not with us here anymore, I'll sure remember her if ever there will be a Paluwagan again. Thus, beginning today, the position for Paluwagan's co-organizer is officially open. LoLs.

Now, let me go to the more serious and important side. Do you know that every time I have a problem about family, lovelife, money, and even with my own personality, it's this colleague and friend that I often first shared it to? Okay, don't cry now Bhem. I really feel sad that she has to go, really I do. I was so silent while we were eating at the pantry because I was trying to hide this sad feeling of being away to yet another closest part of my life. Darn, stop crying now Bhem. (pause)

Whenever I'm down and whenever I feel like crying, she's always there to listen, to emphatize, and to say soothing words to calm me down. I remember those days when we were still seatmates, she never gets tired of listening to my day-to-day whining about my problems. And now even if we're in separate cubicles, nothing stopped me from going to her work station and tell her about my frustrating and not-so-frustrating stories.

I guess, a lot of you have witnessed our conversations at the pantry, eating breakfast and late lunch together, while talking about the problems I or she had recently. This is one thing I'm sure I'm going to miss about her. Though I'll be able to communicate with her through text or ym when she happens to be online to share to her my happy and sad moments, still it won't be the same without her here.

There's still a lot of stories about me and her that I can share to everyone here. Beginning from the seatmate days up to the separate-cubicle days, we sure did have a lot of conversations and memories that are worth remembering from time to time.

But above all these days, how can I forget the time when she was one of the few people who stick with me during that most difficult phase of my life - when I got pregnant with Baby Gaby. Yes, she stood by me. And yes, she was there to support me, to give me encouraging words to move on even if I was abandoned during that difficult time. It was a long and stressful journey, but I manage to survive because I had few true friends who helped me through and she's definitely one of them.

It really feels sad to see her go, but then again, reality check, people come and go for a reason. So, as she leaves today, allow me to tell everyone here, that I feel lucky and proud to be one of her friends. I also want her to know that I'll always treasure her friendship and thank her for all the things that she has done for me. But as she goes, I don't want to say goodbye to her, perhaps it would be better to say, "'til we meet again!"

"Good luck to you, Madeline (a.k.a. Jirl..Lols..) I'll miss you! Hey, don't be absent on Gaby's 1st birthday on November and christening on January '09. Make sure to be there!"

(Jirl's Birthday Celebration last May 2006)

On Exploring New Things

My husband and I were teasing each other in voice chat last night. He said that when he comes home in January, he's going to give Baby Gaby a baby brother. Silly him! I just laughed and told him that it will only happen if and only if he will be the one to conceive. But of course, I was only joking on that.

Anyway, he said that when we're together, he'll do everything to make me happy. Hmmm. I teased him, and asked, as in everything? He said yes, and he asked me if I'll be open to the idea of him using vigrx plus or extenze. I was a little puzzled because I don't have a slight idea as to what those words mean. And so he shared to me this site dedicated to male readers. It's actually a great site for men who want to explore and try new things like using vigrx plus and extenze. Vigrx plus is regarded as the penis enhancement pills' gold standard while extenze is a known maximum strength male enhancement pill. To know which product is more effective to others, reviews like extenze review and enzyte review are included in the site.

Now, going back to what my husband told me, hmmmm I haven't really given the idea much thought. All I can say is that, whatever he wants to try, I'll just support him all the way.

Lesson Learned

It's now 5:10pm here yet it seems our salary won't be credited to our accounts anytime soon. SALARY WHERE ARE YOU??? I'm so pissed off because I'm really flat broke. I have mentioned before that I transferred to a new place, right? And so, that's where most of my money went, on the side were the not-so-important-at-the-moment things that me and my mom-in-law bought 2 Sundays ago, school stuff that I bought for my sister-in-law which exceeded my budget, and the celebration I prepared for Baby Gaby on her 7th month birthday. Waaaa!!! I'm doomed, as in I've never felt so broke in my entire career. Weee!!!

I really hate it that I've already consumed all the contingency plans that I made. Plan A - got the extra money that I lend to my officemate, Plan B - used my credit card for the school stuff that exceeded my budget, and Plan C - borrowed money from my all-time lender ever merciful colleague and friend Olops. I thought, I'll manage to survive until today, and even assuring my mother-in-law before I left the house this morning that I will be home a little late because I'll buy groceries (yes, my refrigerator is empty, as in NADA! WHAMS LAOG!). But look what happened now, NO SALARY UP TO THIS MOMENT, as in 0 balance. And when I try to borrow money, some people don't want to believe me that I'm broke. Huhuhu!!! Poor me.

I was thinking, just because my husband is an OFW, does it mean that I have money always? This is one wrong belief. But I couldn't blame those who are thinking that way. That's why I always tell my husband to learn how to say no sometimes when some people ask him a favor or try to borrow money. I also tell him that since some people think that we always have money, when times that we need cash badly, they will never go out of their way to lend us with the amount that we need. And so, the end result - POOR US!

This is the first time that I went through so much stress because of lack of money. I know, some people will think that why in the world would I allow myself to worry if I can easily withdraw the funds that I have in our passbook account. Okay let me explain, you see I decided to open a passbook account instead of an atm account so I won't be tempted to withdraw from time to time. What's the logic here? If I keep on withdrawing the money and promise to deposit it back, well, I don't trust myself 100% that I'll be able to return it. So, what I do is that, I borrow money from those who have extra amount so I'll be compelled to pay it once I have money already.

Aaarrggghhh!!! I really hate this! I don't want to go to my last resort - and that is to withdraw! But at the back of my mind, I can hear a voice saying - WITHDRAW! WITHDRAW! WITHDRAW!!!

BUT NO! I WON'T! I'll stay firm. I can wait! Promise. I can formulate a Plan D tonight. HOPEFULLY! Now, this is really one big LESSON LEARNED!!!

Update: According to hearsay, salary might be credited to our account by Monday, June 16th. Waaaahhh!!!

Father's Day is Just Around the Corner

Just to remind everyone reading this blog, Father's Day is on Sunday, June 15th. As of now, I don't have any letter or gift yet for Papa Ghie. As compared to last year, as early as two weeks before Father's day, I've already sent him a card and a letter to thank him for giving me Baby Gaby. Now, I don't have anything in mind. Perhaps, on the day itself, I can come up with a nice gift idea for him.

To all the fathers out there, Advance Happy Father's Day! And to all the children, hope you'll remember your dad on this special day. (Hmmm...You'd better say that to yourself Phoebe. Huh?)

Confusing Time

Almost two weeks ago, I saw a photo of my husband together with a girl seated at the center and another guy beside her. The photo would have not disturbed me if the girl seated beside him was not the girl that he used to court when I was pregnant. Although there was another guy on the picture, still I couldn't help but feel a twinge in my heart, because they were seated so close to each other, not to mention it was the girl's birthday celebration. I did not remember him telling me that he attended that girl's birthday party, that's why it really hurt me BIG TIME!

I don't want to think that my husband is cheating on me, but then again, hiding that photo and the information that he came to that girl's party leaves me wondering up to this moment why he didn't tell me about it. Even if he assured me that the girl on the photo is just a friend now, I’m still not at peace considering the fact that the girl is closer to him, unlike me and his baby who are just contented talking to him online and seeing him on webcam. If only I could ask a relationship expert on how to understand men, I’m sure it won’t be too hard for me to keep that trust, which is actually very important for our long distance relationship.

Talking to a relationship expert is a good step for me to reassess things between me and my husband. We have been apart for almost two years now, and believe me being in a long distance relationship is like going for a roller coaster ride. And in confusing times like this, the founder of WomanSavers.com could be of big help. She’s a relationship expert and a dating expert in one. So, if you also have questions about online dating and relationship, feel free to visit her site because I just did.

Problem Solved

My baby and I just moved in to our new place 2 days ago and I really felt glad that we already did. Why? Because the new place is way too bigger and more comfortable for me and my baby. But then, I would admit that the one month deposit and one month advance that I paid to my landlord left me broke, as in fat broke. Now, I’m thinking as to where I could get the cash that I need until the next payday arrives.

For some people, cash loans online are the best solutions for problems like the one I have right now. I don’t know if it’s also the right one for me so I did a little research about it. I found this great online payday loan site and read very useful information on faxless payday loans. Their site includes How It Works and FAQs pages so it was easier for me to understand how to obtain a payday loan.

If you’re having a problem regarding securing immediate cash, why don’t you check this site? It does give me the information that I need, and I’m sure when I decide to apply for one, signing up will be as easy as counting 1-2-3.

Advance Happy Mothers' Day

Just to remind everyone here: Mothers' Day is on the 11th of May. If you don't have a gift or anything special for your mom yet, well you still have time to do some shopping or baking or other stuff which you think will make your mom feel extra special.

I'm grateful for those who still have moms, and allow me to say that you're all way luckier than I am. At the age of 13, I lost my mom, and believe me, my life was never the same when she left. Losing her left me struggling for years, but then later on, I realized that there's no use dwelling on the past. Now, I have finally moved on, and trying to be the best mom that I could be.

So, for all of you out there, love your mom and spend time with her. Remember, you only have one mom in this world. And for moms like me, cheers to us all for we are blessed to be called as Mother, Mommy, or Mama by our sons and daughters.

Now, let me give this award to my fellow great mommies here: Chie, Jirl, Lyn, Mina, Wends, Wats, Peach, Yona, Twinx, Tala, and Ate Razh. Got this from Liza's blog, also a great mom.

HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!!!

An Interesting Find

Whenever I want to take a break, I go blog hopping. I enjoy doing this because I get updated with what's happening to my fellow bloggers and get to see new and interesting sites like the one I found this morning - GetPaidToPost(SM).

So, what is this site? Well, GetPaidToPost(SM) is an online resource of mass posting services which allow advertiser/webmaster to promote his/her business, service, product, or simply a message online.

If you are an advertiser/webmaster, you might ask, why the need to take advantage of these services? The answer is simple: to expand your niche on the Internet. How to do this? Through posts which you can ask from posters such as a buzz post, positive post, neutral post, opinion post, or even a copy and paste post about your business or service. Now, the choice is all up to you.

GetPaidToPost(SM) is really an interesting find. I'm glad I found this site. It'll sure be of big help since I'm also thinking of having my own business online.

Worry No More

I woke up this morning feeling a little restless. I don't know why, maybe because of some things that are bothering me now. I tried to get them out of my mind but no luck. Even when I was on my way to the office, my mind seemed to travel as well, to the future - to what it has enstored for me and for my baby.

I know, it's not good for me to be worrying about the future too much. For years now, I have already proven to myself and to everyone that I am one strong person who can stand every difficult test that comes my way. But you see, no matter how strong I am, there are still moments of weakness, on which during these times I needed friends to talk to the most.

However, my friends are also busy minding their own lives and hardly find time to talk, much more to go out and spend a little time together. I could not blame them though, so the least that I can do is to get myself busy to keep my worries away. Plus, what's the use of my Internet connection at home if I don't take advantage of it. I can always meet new friends or even chat with old friends by simply joining online communities like 3gb.

3GB Community is a site which allows online users like me to meet new and old friends, join groups, chat with other members, and share blogs on topics of all sorts. I found this site very interactive and user-friendly. Imagine chatting, uploading photo albums, and hearing last mp3 hits in a single community, so no need to go to one site for chatting alone, or to another just to upload pictures. And since this is online, I can connect with friends from other places. I always love to meet new people from other countries, so joining this site is really fun.

It really feels good to set aside worries about the future by keeping myself occupied with other things like meeting other people. Now, with 3gb Community, even with my friends away, I can always get connected.

Life's Not All About Money

I've learned something this morning which leaves me thinking up to this very moment. I know, I'm not supposed to be worrying about the "future" as early as now. But, I couldn't help it.

I want a complete family, I'm sure about that. However, there are "some people" who seem to be getting in the way so I won't be able to achieve this. What are "their" reason? Well, it's all about the MONEY! MONEY! and MORE MONEY! And honestly, I'm not too happy about it. I don't know why "some people" are so selfish to the extend that they deprive others from being together and from being happy. They think that if "we" are already together as a family, money will not anymore come their way. Why, is life just all about money? What about family? Health? Character? Aren't those factors more important?

I don't understand why in our society some people look at money as the most important thing or factor in order to be happy and contented. They say, "Money is Power". Yes, indeed, it is! But do you think it's right to put money on top of everything, even on top of family and character?

I really feel sad how money can transform a person's character from being humble and happy even with just simple things to discontented and selfish. How I wish "these people" will realize as early as now that there are more important things than money.

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Hebrews 13:5

Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have.

Pour Gagner L'Argent, Maintenant !

Whew, for the first time, I'll be making this French post. I've always loved to learn French. And now that I'm given a chance, let me share this to you.

A Tribute to A Great Colleague...and Friend

Today is his Silver Birthday. So I create this post solely as a tribute to him - my great colleague and friend.

I've known him way back in 1999, when I joined our school paper, The Cassette. He was a shy boy, (Lols..boy? weee..) so I never got the chance to know him better then. But now, he's one of the few persons whom I considered as my best buddies. Through the years of working and having great friendship with him, I get to know some of the interesting things that he likes and even those which he doesn't like too much. My list could go on and on, but I just summed them up and listed here 5 things to know about this great colleague and friend of mine - Mr. Dexter Baldon. (a round of applause pls...weeee)

1. Dex loves to travel. Whether here in Bicol or out of town, Dex loves to explore many interesting and exciting places like the one he recently visited which is CWC. Want to know where he has travelled so far? Click here.

2. Dex is a wannabe photographer. Even with his "not-so-latest" model of Kodak digicam, Dex can capture really great photos, on which during first glance, you might think that a professional photographer has taken them. From simple flowers up to picturesque views of beaches and hills, he can transform them into exciting pieces of artwork...(Ooowwwss!) Here, check some of his masterpieces.

3. Dex is a frustrated architect. Well, that's according to him. I never thought that this friend of mine has great talent in sketching/drawing, until I saw this post on his blog. I was really surprised when I saw this "masterpiece' that he has created. All this time, I thought he was only into writing, photography, and a little bit of well, uhem, singing. Lols. But after seeing all his Sketchup 3D models, I was convinced that he could have been really a great architect.

4. Dex is a born singer. I'm not deceiving you guys, believe me, he is. If you were around during our 2007 Christmas Party, I'm sure you'll agree. But for those who were not, well, you can look forward to his another great singing performance this coming December. Right Dex? Wink.

5. Dex is a good cook. Wanna bet? Why don't you try tasting Carbonara ala Dex? Once you taste it, I'm sure you'll crave for more. Hahaha. Believe me because I did.

These are just some of the interesting things that I can share to you about Dex. Although I've just known him better way back in 2005, when I first applied as a copywriter, I can say that Dex is one of the few people that should really be treasured not only as a colleague but also as a friend. I've seen him happy, sad, excited, nervous, frustrated, silly, and even weird, but one thing that I can always remember about him is that - whether it's a good time or bad time, he will always be there. (Take note: He was there together with our other friends, Talie and Owen, when I was about to give birth of Baby Gaby)

So, as you celebrate your silver birthday Dex, allow me to say thank you for being such a great colleague and friend. I wish you more birthdays and success in life (not to mention savings...savings...lols) I'll always be here for you when you need me, always remember that okay? Now, enjoy your day!

56 Words Per Minute?

When I get back to my desk after a teleconference with my boss, I noticed that almost everyone in our cubicle was busy typing. I thought, wow, is this for real? Often times, in the afternoon especially when it's near 5pm, I can hardly hear loud keyboard typing sound because everyone seems to be exhausted and is getting ready to go home, including myself. So, this afternoon was rather different, only to find out that they were typing loud because they were trying this Speedtest which was shared by Peach.

If you want to know how fast you type, well, basically this speed test can give you a clue as to how many words or characters you can type per minute. Although this is not really 100% accurate, for copywriters like me, this is a starter in terms of assessing ones typing speed.

So, okay, I tried the test, once...twice...thrice...weeee...I couldn't go as high as 70 words per minute. First try was 54 words per min. Hmmm...I wasn't satisfied. So I tried again, but perhaps since I was a little tired already from the first one, I got only 50 words per minute. :( I was frustrated so I said, I'll try again. But this time, with a little cheating thing...hahaha..(I was memorizing the words so I won't be looking at the monitor anymore..Yeah right, cheater!) But you see, it didn't help at all because I got the second word wrong in an instant. So, I restarted and concentrated instead on the last try. I got 56 words per minute.

56 words? Hmmmm..What do you think? Is it good enough considering that I've been doing this typing stuff for years now? Well, I'd admit, until now, I still don't know the correct positioning of my fingers for typing. And I'm sure there are lots out there who are in the same boat as mine. Although I am able to use my ten fingers, still this doesn't make me type real fast as compared to Peach's 94 words per minute typing speed.

How about you? Want to have an idea as to how fast you can type? Try this for yourself. Simply click on the image below and get started. Ciao!

Me in the Online World

Looking back at Dex's posts a while ago, I happened to see this one which was written last January 17. I have read this before, but I completely forgot continuing the meme because I was too occupied with work stuff.

But anyway, now that I found the time, guess it's time to let this meme live on.

How long have you been blogging?

If I remember it right, I started blogging last 2005. It was on my friendster blog. Actually, I've heard the word blog even before 2005, but I was never aware back then what a blog is. So, when I've learned that a blog is just like a diary or journal, it immediately caught my attention, then the rest was history.

So, to count the years I've been blogging, guess it's almost 3 years now.

What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?

Way back in 2005, nothing really inspired me to start blogging and I have no mentor either. When I made my first post, it was just some sort of an emotional release. I was feeling restless during that time, and after writing it down, I felt somewhat relieved. So, since then, blogging became my own way of relieving stress and expressing some thoughts and feelings which I found difficult sharing to anyone in person.

But as of now, there are lots of things that inspire me to blog. One of which is my Baby Gaby. Ever since I found out that she was inside me, I was so enthusiastic to broadcast it to the world. So, if you will see my posts here way back in 2007, you will notice that most of it pertains to baby and pregnancy. But now, I made a separate family blog for us - Baby Gab, her dad, and me. It's entitled "The Baby in Between".

Are you trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun?
Yup, I do try to blog for money, but that doesn't mean that I don't do it for fun anymore. In every post that I make, I always see to it that I inject my personal thoughts on it, thus I enjoy writing it because I can still relate to the topics that I discuss.
But you see, before, it never really occurred to me that I can earn through this hobby or past time. So, when my colleauges shared to me how rewarding blogging can be financially, I told myself, "why not give it a try". Considering the additional expenses that I have to make now for my baby, blogging for money is certainly a big help for a mom like me.

Tell me three things you love about being online.
Well, to start with, of course I love being online because it enables me to communicate with Gaby's dad more often. Email and chat services make it possible and easy for me to show Gaby's dad of her developments (from infant to toddler) and of course, to relay to him about her needs.
Another thing is that, being online allows me to communicate or interact with other people from difference places. (Ssshhh. I'm not into chatting anymore...I'm talking about my friends and schoolmates way back who are now abroad..wink!)
And lastly, I love being online because it provides me a lot of information. From pregnancy topics to babies upto relationships, travel, and technology, the Internet has it all.

Tell me three things you struggle within the online world.
For one, I struggle learning everything that can be learned online (web design, downloading softwares, etc. etc.) I'm used to attending real classes so I really find it hard to learn these stuff online.
Next, I find it difficult to update all the blogs that I created. You see, even this blog is sometimes neglected when work is really hectic.
And third, it is a struggle for me to balance my time between blogging and chatting to my baby's dad (who happens to be in Korea now). I certainly hope I'll be able to manage this really sooner.
So, folks that's the last one. Time to tag other people now so this continues...Good luck Jirl, Nays, Mina, and Twinkle.

Celeb Mom and Baby

I was blog hopping this afternoon when I stumbled on this post entitled Celebrity Chiik by Yhen. It was like a Fake Magazine Cover which features her as the cover girl. (In your dreams, Yhen..wehehe!) But hey, you look good on that cover. Very far from a celebrity though, wehehehe...just kiddin'..Peace!

Anyway, I kinda envy you on that, so I created one for myself. Here check it out:

So, what do you think? Does my pic fit on that Seventeen mag? With a little emphasis on that nice dimple, I'm sure anyone will think that I still look like I'm seventeen. (Yeah ryt, dream on Phoebe!)

How about my little girl? Hmmm, let us see if she has a promising career as a cover girl.

She looks so cute, right? And look at those eyes and that adorable smile. Oh, I'm so proud of my baby, and mind you, she's not camera shy at all.

Doing Taxes The Easy Way

Hey, I'm back home and it feels good to see my little Gaby again. But in as much as I want to spend more time with her, I just can't yet because here I am working again. Anyhow, I'll just make it up to her during the weekend or when I get back home later this afternoon.

So, what's new for me now that I'm back here in my place? Well, I guess, I have to start doing the important things that I neglected to do almost two weeks ago. One of which is updating my tax exemption status. You see, I realized just this January that my tax exemption status is not updated, which means all this time I paid more taxes than what I was supposed to. So, now that I'm here I need to look into this and put it in my priority "to-do" list as a taxpayer.

Well, I know for a fact that a lot of taxpayers out there want to avoid mistakes on their tax returns. To ensure this, they rely on a tax preparation software like Turbo Tax.

So, why fret over incorrect or overlooked deductions if you can do your taxes the easy way through Turbo Tax? Now, you can even avail of a TurboTax promotion code to enjoy state discount.

But wait, there's more! With TurboTax promo code, you can also get a free edition of Turbo Tax which you can use when you file your federal taxes. Expiration of this code will be on the 16th of April 2008 so no need to worry.

Turbo Tax is indeed a great help for taxpayers. Now, let me go back to updating my tax exemption status.

I Miss My Little Girl

When I woke up this morning, I was full of energy and thought that this would be a great day in spite the fact that I'm still away from my Baby Gab. But when I logged in this morning and started seeing her pictures in my blog, I suddenly felt this heavy feeling and just wanted to burst in tears. I tried to control my emotions though since there are a few people here who'd see me and would wonder why I'm crying.

For other moms out there, I'm sure they would understand what I'm feeling now. It's been over a week since I left my little girl, yet it already feels like months. I miss my baby so much, really I do. I'm just not used to sleeping without her, or waking up in the morning not feeling her small body beside me. I miss her, damn I miss her. I don't want to cry here, it's too embarrassing, but damn I really miss her.

For the past days, I kept myself busy and occupied so I won't think about her too much. But you see, as a mom, anyone can't blame me if I'm feeling a little emotional whenever I remember my kiddo or see other babies with their moms and dads at the mall. I'm sure, other moms or even dads feel the same way when they're away from their kids.

So I'm thinking, if I feel so homesick now that I've been away for more than a week, what more if I pursue my plan of applying for work abroad? Oh, just the thought of it, makes me all the more emotional. Last year, I was too determined to apply for a job abroad this 2008. But now, I'm having second thoughts. What do you think, should I leave or should I stay? Do you think it would be worth it if I leave my little girl behind just to give her a brighter future? Or would it rather be an advantage if I'd settle with what I have now and see her grow at the same time?

Questions, questions, and still more questions. I need answers, all the answers! But for now, I'll have to wait for the day to be over, so I can go back home tomorrow and see my little girl.
